An introduction to the identification of a general range of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbous plants used in public and private residential landscape schemes in urban and rural areas. Learn how to identify these plants, how and where they can be used in planting design. It is also provides Landscape Architecture students with plant knowledge necessary for their planting design projects in particular and landscape design work in general. The course will also incorporate latest policies for nature restoration planting, urban greening, and planting of native species planting, supporting biodiversity and pollinators and nature friendly planting. \

### What will I learn?
###### Learning Outcomes:
Be able to select plants species for a range of situations encountered from natural to built landscapes. Assess the suitability of existing and proposed vegetation for a range of situations. Be able to select plant material for various situations from nursery catalogues. Apply information gained from this module when developing planting plans and landscape management plans.
