This undergraduate module targets students specialising in Animal Science/Animal Production. \
This module is designed to make students more familiar with the range of industry employers and understand the role these businesses play in farm animal production systems. \
A range of 10 -12 industry partners will deliver module content to the students over the course of the trimester covering business models, technical detail, career progression and emerging trends in the animal science/animal production area.\
The overall purpose of this module is to visualize the practical application of the theoretical knowledge gained in other modules in the pre and pot farm gate setting. \

### What will I learn?

###### Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the students should be able to: \
Understand the industries supporting and emanating from farm animal production systems in Ireland.\
Describe the role of the various pre- and post far gate businesses in farm animal production systems.\
Comment on key opportunities and challenges faced by these businesses and how it impacts on farm animal production systems\
Describe new and emerging technologies in the businesses supporting farm animal production systems.\

###### Indicative Module Content:

A range of 10 to 12 key stakeholders in the farm animal production industries will deliver lecture content to students covering the entire range of pre and post farm gate support industries. \
These industries include but are not limited to:\
Meat and Milk processors\
Breeding and Genetics\
Feed processing\
Advisory and representative bodies\
Ag tech companies\
Feed additives\
Animal Health\
DAFM and Bord Bia
