Computer
Science,
the
University
of
Waterloo’s
top-ranked
subject
internationally,
has
risen
three
spots
in
the
global
rankings
to
the
22nd
position,
according
to
the
latest
edition
of
the
[Quacquarelli
Symonds
(QS)
World
University
Rankings
by
Subject](https://www.topuniversities.com/subject-rankings)
released
on
March
22,
2023.\
\
This
is
the
third
year
in
a
row
that
Computer
Science
was
in
the
top
25
internationally
and
the
top-ranked
subject
at
Waterloo.

wonderful

see
Computer
Science
at
Waterloo
in
the
22nd
spot
internationally,”
said
Raouf
Boutaba,
Professor
and
Director
of
the
Cheriton
School
of
Computer
Science.

continue
to
recruit
top
faculty
candidates
across
the
spectrum
of
research
areas
within
computer
science
to
add
to
the
School’s
research
excellence.
It

see

research
excellence
reflected

our
strong
international
ranking.”

released
QS
World
University
Rankings
by
Subject
evaluated
universities
for
54
subjects.
In
its
biggest
ranking
yet,
the
latest
QS
rankings
feature
more
than
15,700
academic
programs
across
1,594
institutions
globally.
The
methodology

the
QS
World
University
Rankings
by
Subject
incorporates
data
including
research
quality
as
measured
by
citations
per
paper,
as
well
as
h-index,
which
measures
scholarly
output
and
impact.
