At the heart of this initiative is the Engineering Research Administration (ERA) team. The ERA is committed to providing exceptional service to faculty investigators and administrators throughout every stage of the research process. From initial proposal submission to final project closeout, the ERA team ensures excellence in research administration and supports the growth of the School’s research enterprise.

By offering comprehensive support and fostering a collaborative environment, the ERA empowers engineering faculty to focus on pioneering research and creating impactful solutions.

At ERA, our mission is to provide exceptional customer service and support to the School of Engineering and Computing faculty. Our experienced research administrators are dedicated to ensuring compliance with university, sponsor, and government policies, regulations, and practices. We assist faculty, departments, and campus partners in navigating the complexities of awards and regulations to streamline the research administration process.

### Pre-Award Services

- Proposal Development: Assist with proposal preparation and development.
- Collaborative Proposals Efforts: Coordinate the preparation of collaborative proposals involving multiple investigators, both on campus and with peer institutions. Connect with the Office of Research Development (ORD) on large and complex proposal efforts.
- Submission Coordination: Submit proposals in CayuseSP for review and work with the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) to ensure final review, approval, and submission to sponsors. Assist with preparing Just In Time (JIT) documents.

### Post-Award Services

- Award Management: Keep faculty informed about account balances and spending practices through routine monthly reports.
- Budget Management: Develop and revise proposed budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Assist with pre-award or advanced spending requests. Assist with award amendments such as budget revisions and No-Cost-Extension (NCEs).
- Re-budgeting: Facilitate re-budgeting requests and obtain necessary approvals from both internal and sponsored sources.
- Award Execution and Compliance: Act as liaison between School of Engineering and Computing and Central Offices (OSP and RCA) and assist faculty with award issues or address sponsor requests.
- Project Closeout: Oversee project closeout process and work closely with Research and Cost Account (RCA) to confirm final expenditures.
