## Inside Rice Engineering and Computing
Rice University's George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing is a top-ranked program that empowers the next generation of leaders with strong technical and communication skills, creative problem solving and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
The staff in the Office of the Dean provides support for the Dean of Engineering, our nine academic departments, as well as various engineering centers and institutes. That includes human resources, communications and marketing, research, recruiting and enrollment, and other services needed throughout the George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing.
Rice Engineering and Computing has a tradition of giving students a sound foundation in the fundamentals of engineering but today, those fundamentals must be augmented by experiential learning and soft skills.

Vision to 2025 contains three strategic goals that will guide our investments in the Rice University George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing over the next seven years.
We've worked to make Rice Engineering and Computing one of the most diverse engineering programs in the nation. And our work not only happens in classrooms and laboratories but also through outreach and engagement in the community.
