Biology Degree Options and Customization

There are many different reasons to be a biologist, and so the Biology degree at Tech includes 21 hours of customizable technical electives to reflect what you want to do with your degree. The Biology degree also offers multiple options to tailor your degree for your career goals, including the Research Option, Business Option, Pre-Health focus, Internships, Research, TA experience, Study Abroad & International Plan, as well as many Biology certificates. Check out the options below and the menu to the right for the many ways you can customize your Biology degree for your specific career plans.

• Research Option: increase your competitiveness for graduate and medical school
• Business Option: build a business perspective into your Biology degree without the hours required for a minor
• Prehealth Curriculum: go above and beyond the minimum prehealth requirements without adding extra hours to your degree
• Certificates: customize your Biology degree for your area of interest without adding extra hours
• 5 year BS/MS Biology: earn both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Biology in just 5 years
