Program Overview
The Epigenetics, Environment, and Health in Costa Rica (EEHCR) program for Summer 2026 will offer a rich curriculum of 7 courses, centered on the theme of Epigenetics, Environment and Health, in Costa Rica, one of the world’s most eco-friendly nations and home to 6% of global biodiversity. Students will learn about Epigenetics, Science, Technology and Human Values, Behavioral Biology, Cancer Biology & Biotechnology, Bioethics, Microbiology, and Community Ecology, allowing them to directly connect classroom learning with environmental, lifestyle, and societal and cultural impacts.
Summer 2026 Program Schedule:
- May 17: Program begins with virtual learning
- June 1: Departure from U.S. to San Jose, Costa Rica
- July 2: Departure from Tamarindo and return to U.S.; virtual learning continues
- July 17: Program ends
