First-Year Admission

First-Year Admission Deadlines

Georgia Tech exclusively uses the Common Application for all first-year applicants. You may create a Common App account at any time during your high school career in order to learn more about the process. We will begin accepting application submissions on August 1 of your senior year.

At Georgia Tech we admit students for both the Summer and Fall Academic Terms, and ALL applicants will be considered for both terms. Students who are admitted to Georgia Tech will see their start term listed on their admission notification.

Application Plan 2026 Application Deadline Document Deadline Self-Reported Test Score Deadline Decision Release Date
Early Action 1 Georgia Students Only October 15 October 31 November 15 December 5
Early Action 2 Non-Georgia Students Only November 3 November 17 January 6 January 30
Regular Decision January 5 January 23 January 23 Georgia: March 6 Non-Georgia: March 27

Please note: All deadlines are 11:59 p.m. in your time zone (for example, a student who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, must submit their application by 11:59 p.m. ET).

The document deadline is for additional submissions outside of your Common Application. These documents could include school reports, transcripts, recommendations or any other required school information. Self-reported test scores should be submitted by the dates above. To learn more about how we consider testing in the admission process, please see more details on our standardized tests page.

Early Action Deadlines

An Early Action application to Georgia Tech is non-binding. The application review process is the same in both Early Action and Regular Decision plans.

Students who wish to be considered for academic scholarships, such as the Stamps President's Scholars Program, Scheller Dean's Scholarship and others, must apply by the appropriate Early Action deadline listed above. No separate scholarship application is required.

Students with incomplete Early Action files may complete their application and be considered for admission in Regular Decision. Applications not completed by the document and self-reported test score deadline for Regular Decision will be closed.

Regular Decision Deadline

This is the last date to apply for first-year admission. As noted, the application review process is the same in both Early Action and Regular Decision plans.

Complete Applications

A complete application will include:

Transcripts

Transcripts must be submitted electronically or postmarked no later than the date listed in the table above for the round in which you have applied. Transcripts may be submitted by your school counselor, or you may upload an unofficial high school transcript via your admission portal after application submission. Students who have taken dual enrollment courses should ensure those courses are listed on their high school transcript, self-report their dual enrollment work through their application, or request the college attended to send your transcript to us directly. Students who are admitted and enroll will be required to submit an official transcript directly from the college to be considered for any transfer credit.

Other Documentation

Additional documents may be requested upon review of your file. These documents will be due by the document deadline for that round or as soon as possible if requested after the deadline.
