Compass Coordinator (Welfare Support Services)

Are you an experienced social worker or youth worker with a passion for working with university and vocational education students? Join us at our City campus and be part of an energetic and driven team of staff, elected student representatives and volunteers who are making a real difference for students.

About the Role

The RUSU Compass Service is designed to provide welfare information, referrals and support to RMIT students. The service includes Compass Drop-In Centres where students can seek guidance without booking an appointment. The Compass service and programs are well estblished. This position is a temporary 18 month contract (maternity leave temp role ). Your skills in social work, youth work, volunteer supervision, advocacy and support will be utilised to assist students in a complex and challenging higher education environment. RUSU (RMIT University Student Union) represents around 75,000 students at RMIT University and operates independent from RMIT University as a registered not-for-profit organisation.

With an annual budget of over $7 million, RUSU employs 30 permanent staff 15+ casual student staff. Our main offices are in the CBD with additional offices and services at Bundoora and Brunswick campuses.
