## **What is mentoring?**

Mentoring is an exciting way to accelerate personal and professional development. It goes beyond traditional formalised learning by providing personalised guidance, support, and insights from someone with more or different experiences.

## **Why Mentoring?**

At RMIT, we understand that while formal education is essential, informal and social learning play a crucial role in personal and professional growth. Our university is home to a wealth of knowledge and experience, thanks to our talented professionals. \
\
To cultivate the workforce of the future, we are committed to supporting mentoring activities that pair experienced individuals (mentors) with those who are less experienced or looking to build new skills and knowledge (mentees) from across the university. These mentoring relationships are established for a specific time frame, with the goal of facilitating the mentee’s growth, learning, and career development. At the same time, mentors have the opportunity to share their expertise, insights, and guidance, enriching their own professional journey.
