Course Learning Outcome

Explain the assessment and management of patients diagnosed with macular degeneration using a counselling approach.

Apply an appropriate counselling approach for patients diagnosed with macular degeneration.

Apply counselling skills that are appropriate for individuals diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration neovascular (nAMD), Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) and Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO).

Entry Requirement

- **Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)** with **at least 3 years** of working **experience working** in an **ophthalmology clinic** and **2 years experience** in **counselling of macular disease** in an **ophthalmology clinic**
- **Diploma/ Bachelor degree** in **Nursing** recognized by the **UKM Senate **with **2 years counselling** of **macular disease** in an **ophthalmology clinic******
****- **Bachelor degree** in **Optometry** recognized by the **UKM Senate**
- **Diploma/ Bachelor degree** in **Psychology/ Counselling** recognized by **the Senate******

When will the classes be conducted?

The classes will be conducted on Saturday.

Payment method?

Two (2) types of payment:

1. 1. Full payment
   2. Installment payment (3 times)

Is there a sponsorship?

Yes. Sponsorship from NOVARTIS. Eligible candidates who meet predetermined conditions will be considered.

There is 3 assesment methods for this program:

1. 1. Clinical attachment
   2. Case presentation
   3. Final exam
