Minors are interdisciplinary thematic courses, which are optional and complementary to the Bachelor's or Master's degree programme, focusing on topics of great relevance in the current scenario and aimed at training professionals with additional skills useful for further studies and for entering the world of work.

The "Minor" is obtained by attending 3 university modules:

- A module (module 1) based on cross-cutting educational activities of the specific area of the minor, chosen from the activities present in the curriculum of the contextual degree programme in which the student is enrolled;
- A module (module 2) based on cross educational activities of the specific area of the minor, chosen from among the activities present in the curriculum of degree programmes other than the one in which the student is enrolled;
- A module (module 3) based either on transversal training activities of the specific area of the minor, chosen from among the activities offered in the degree programmes, relating to scientific-disciplinary areas that do not characterise the class of the programme in which the student is enrolled, or based on training activities relating to cross-cutting skills, including "digital skills" and "design thinking", used in Sapienza’s training offer or developed specifically for the minor.

In addition, an interdisciplinary dissertation on a topic related to the chosen minor must be submitted.

The minor requires the acquisition of a total of 30 CFU (credits), as follows

- Module 1 - from 6 to 9 CFU
- Module 2 - 9 to 12 CFU
- Module 3 - 12 CFU (can be acquired as extracurricular credits)

**Recipients**: The minor is intended for students enrolled at Sapienza in Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes, as well as in single-cycle degree programmes.

The acquisition of the minor is attested by a University certificate with the issue of an Open Badge and, if acquired at the same time as the Master's degree, it is attested in the Diploma Supplement.

Enrolment in the minors is free of charge and can be done by students already enrolled in one of the Sapienza context courses.

Minors are open to a certain number of participants and admission may be regulated by a call for applications.

The Minor CFU can be obtained at the same time as the degree or within six months of it, at no extra cost to the student.
