Informal Learning

Informal learning is learning from everyday experiences and activities, not organised or structured in terms of learning support, time, and objectives"

Sapienza offers many opportunities for informal learning, recognised by special Open Badges differentiated according to the educational experience carried out. In particular, Sapienza's Informal Learning is grouped into the following 2 categories:

LEARNING BY DOING

Students are involved in practical activities, sometimes voluntary, sometimes paid, which enable them to acquire skills in the field. Among these, the most relevant are:

Collaboration Scholarships

Grants to fund collaborative activities. Selected students collaborate with specific university facilities such as libraries, museums, laboratories, sports facilities, integrated teaching facilities (e.g. multimedia classrooms, reading rooms), reception, orientation and information centres, support services for students with disabilities, activities promoting Sapienza's educational offer and orientation-related events.

Cultural and social initiatives

Regularly enrolled students can independently design and implement cultural and social initiatives relating to the university - seminars, conferences and artistic events - by taking part in a specially-issued call for proposals.

Ombudspersons and Student Representatives

At University and Faculty level, there is the Student Ombudsperson who has the authority and the duty to intervene, also based on justified petitions submitted by students, to report dysfunctions and restrictions of student rights.

The representative is a very important figure in guaranteeing real support for the student population, necessary to resolve problematic situations, whether serious or not, that arise during university life, thus guaranteeing presence and protection in the various university bodies.

Every two years the University Elections are held, in which the entire student body is invited to vote to elect representatives to Sapienza's governing bodies.

\ ASSESSMENT OF PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Students who have gained personal experience in the artistic, social and expressive fields have the opportunity to have their informal training recognised by passing tests assessed by experienced lecturers.
