Sapienza implements targeted inclusion policies and organises specific services to remove the obstacles that prevent everyone in the university community from reaching their full potential

Sapienza supports students with SLDs (and with other medical documentation certifying acute or chronic conditions) by promoting activities and services that foster the best possible conditions for attendance, study and assessment, and their full inclusion in university life.

Once enrolled, in order to benefit from the services offered by Sapienza, people with SLDs must declare their status in their Infostud profile and register with the Service for Students with Disabilities.

International students, EU or non-EU, are required to provide a certificateattesting to their disability status issued in their country of residence, accompanied by a sworn translation in Italian or English.

Registration allows you to:

Educational mediation with lecturers/teaching facilities

Didactic mediation for admission tests and/or regular exams/proficiency tests, so that forms of flexibility (methodological, instrumental, organisational) are adopted.

When: at least 10/15 (working) days before the exam date\ How: send an email for each exam to servizio.dsa@uniroma1.it with the subject Personalised test request for the“exam name” of “exam date”. Send a single email for each individual exam complete with attachments if requested.\ Include the following information in the body of the message: lecturer's name and surname; lecturer's email; exam name; exam date; requested support (additional time and/or quantitative and not qualitative reduction of the assignment; mindmaps, other). The service will then send the request to the lecturers, after evaluation. \ Please note: if the 10 to 15 (working) days' advance notice is not respected, the request cannot be taken over by the department and lecturers will not be obliged to grant a customised test for the indicated exam.

Specialised tutoring

This service is provided by professionals with competences in humanities, psychology and experience in inclusive didactics and public administration. It aims to promote the education of students with physical or learning difficultiesthrough:

Following one or more interviews, we will agree with you on a custom-tailored support plan, which may vary as you progress in your studies.

Digital text request

The service is only provided if the text is not available for purchase in digital format. You must purchase the paper format and keep the receipt of payment.

When: 60 days before the date you need the material
