Summer-Winter Schools are intensive, usually residential, courses of one to four weeks' duration, with an international character, and a programme of educational activities on a specific theme. The topics on offer are very varied and may include side activities such as excursions to places of interest, workshops and laboratories. It allows students to explore a specific topic related to their field of study in depth with experts before embarking on a more demanding course such as a Specialisation School or a future Advanced Professional Course.

The planned activities may be face-to-face, distance learning or blended, and may include mobility at partner universities in Italy or abroad.

Recipients: These courses are aimed at those who wish to study a specific field in depth for a short period of time; preferential beneficiaries are university graduates, but also secondary school graduates.

Workload: The intensive course involves educational activities equivalent to a maximum of 10 Cfu.

Certification: a Certificate of Attendance is issued by the Course Director - The CFUs acquired may be recognised according to the regulations in force in Bachelor's and Master's degrees programmes according to the entry requirement for participation.

Admission requirements: Candidates without a university degree may be admitted, but the Cfu can only be awarded to those who have completed upper secondary education.

Assessment: A final exam is planned which may consist of a discussion of a thesis or a project work on the topics covered during the course.

The courses are delivered in Italian/English

Costs vary according to the course offered.

Admission procedures: The courses have a limited number of places and all applicants must be selected according to the procedures set out in a call. There is usually an assessment of qualifications and/or an admission test, as set out in the Call published each year for each course.
