Payments made by methods other than those specified are not permitted. Using different methods could cause technical problems with payment recognition and all procedures related to the payment itself.

2. Tax deductions on university fee payments

The 2020 Budget Law of 27 December 2019 established that, as of 1 January 2020, in order to benefit from tax deductions on expenses for attending university programmes, payments must be made using traceable methods.

Therefore, it will no longer be possible to claim tax deductions if university enrolment fees are paid in cash (Law No. 160 of 27 December 2019, Article 1, paragraph 679).
