**1. Teaching activities**

Teaching activities for each academic year normally begin on 1 October and end on 30 September. Classes may not begin before 14 September.

Each Faculty, in compliance with the general criteria established by the Academic Senate, determines the division of the academic year into teaching periods.

**2. End of the academic year**

The academic year ends on 31 January. Examinations taken by 31 January of the calendar year following the end of an academic year are relevant to the previous academic year and do not require re-enrolment.

**3. Transparency and publication of calendars**

Teaching periods, class schedules, lecturers' office hours, the calendar of exams and other assessments, and the calendar of final exams with the relevant deadlines are published by the teaching departments in the courses catalogue before the start of classes for the academic year in question.

Any changes/additions to the above information are published as soon as they occur.
