1. Benefits and conditions

The ‘Meritorious Student’ benefit is awarded to those who have obtained their high school diploma or degree with the highest grades and provides for a flat-rate annual enrolment fee of just €30, plus the regional tax (€140) and stamp duty (€16), provided that the requirements specified below are met.

A. For three-year and single-cycle degrees

The benefit applies if the secondary school diploma is awarded with the highest grades in the year of enrolment.

Therefore, if you enrol in a three-year or single-cycle bachelor's degree programme in 2025-2026, you can access this benefit if:

If you enrol in a second level two-year degree programme in 2025-2026, you can access this benefit if:

Qualifying examinations and exams must be recorded through the Infostud system.

The administrative office will carry out regular auditing to confirm or remove the benefit.

2. Procedures

A. If you enrol in a three-year degree programme or a single-cycle programme, you must declare your status as a “meritorious student” on Infostud at the time of enrolment. The procedure is available on this page https://www.uniroma1.it/it/node/24162

B. If you have been awarded your degree from Sapienza, you must declare your status as a “meritorious student” on Infostud when you enrol in the first year of your master's degree. The procedure is available on this page https://www.uniroma1.it/it/node/24162

C. If you have been awarded your degree from another Italian university, you must:

The administrative office will carry out the auditing and add the benefit to your profile.

Adjustments will be applied to subsequent instalments.

Please note that if you have been awarded your degree from an Italian university other than Sapienza, you can apply for the ‘Wanted the best’ scholarship call for applications if you meet the requirements.
