**24H Reading Rooms**

Sapienza has five 24-hour reading rooms. Access is reserved to regularly enrolled Sapienza students holding the [student card](https://www.uniroma1.it/en/pagina/student-cards).

### **Scheduled closures**

- Earth Sciences: April 5-6, 2026
- Foreign languages: on March 17, closes at 8.00 PM due to maintenance work on Marco Polo compound
- Oriental Studies: on March 17, closes at 8.00 PM due to maintenance work on Marco Polo compound

### Where are the Reading Rooms?

- Umberto I General Hospital (entrance from viale del Policlinico 155 and viale Regina Elena 324 gates [see map](https://www.uniroma1.it/sites/default/files/field_file_allegati/salah24_policlinico_mappa.png))
- Earth Sciences Library (Geology Building, CU005, access from piazzale Aldo Moro)
- Faculty of Law - Private law (Plesso Tecce - CU018, access from piazzale Aldo Moro)
- Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering Library (Sala Ghizzetti, Via Antonio Scarpa 16, RM007 Building)
- Oriental studies (Marco Polo compound, Circonvallazione Tiburtina, 4 - edificio RM021)
- Foreign languages (Marco Polo compound, Circonvallazione Tiburtina, 4 - edificio RM021)

**Monday-Friday**

- Umberto I General Hospital: always open.
- Earth Sciences: 9 am - 8 pm.
- Faculty of Law - Private law: 8 am - 8 pm.
- Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering Library: always open.
- Oriental studies: 9:00 am - 8:00 pm, 8:30 pm - 12:00 pm.
- Foreign languages: 9 am - 12 pm.

**Saturday and Sunday**

- Umberto I General Hospital: always open.
- Earth Sciences: 8 am - 8 pm.
- Faculty of Law - Private law: 8 am - 8 pm.
- Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering Library: always open.
- Oriental studies: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm - 7:00 pm.
- Foreing languages: 9 am - 7 pm.

### How to Access Campus and the 24H Reading Rooms

To access the study rooms it is necessary to own the [student card](https://www.uniroma1.it/en/pagina/student-cards). For Safety reasons, only Sapienza students can access to 24h reading rooms.

The study room Umberto I General Hospital is accessible by an automatic control system. If the student card is not owned, a magnetic tag will be issued in place of the card. Students can activate the student card or receive the magnetic tag visiting the study areas every day from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. where there will be the designated staff. The tag, as well as the student card, are strictly personal and not transferable to others.\
