## Build your own nest
The vast majority of first- and second-year students live on campus, taking advantage of easy access to classrooms and campus activities. Ohio State's residence halls offer a variety of room styles and living arrangements. We take great care in housing placements, then take great care in making sure every resident is set up for success.

### The highest quality residential experience
Ohio State’s residence halls are inclusive spaces that welcome and respect the dignity and uniqueness of all. Under the direction of resident advisors and full-time professional hall directors, residents enjoy social activities and academic support in a safe and comfortable environment.
### Living-learning communities
If you’d like to start in a community with a more in-depth academic component,
[living-learning communities](https://housing.osu.edu/learning-communities/) connect students who share similar majors, career plans or personal interests. Each offers faculty engagement and activities related to the group’s goals.
### STEP
In your second year in the residence halls, you will have the option of participating in Ohio State's innovative Second-year Transformational Experience Program ([STEP](https://step.osu.edu/)). Through interaction with faculty, you’ll deepen your academic pursuits, developing tools for life and building essential network connections.
