- ​If selected for [verification](https://sfa.osu.edu/distance-education/apply-for-aid/step-by-step), make sure this process is complete within 45 days of selection.
- Check your financial aid status by logging in to
  [My Buckeye Link](http://buckeyelink.osu.edu/) regularly to ensure you have no outstanding To Do items.
- [Verify your contact information](https://admin.resources.osu.edu/student-information-system-sis/sis-my-buckeye-link-reference-guide) with the university through
  [buckeylink.osu.edu​](https://buckeyelink.osu.edu/).​
- Once offered, review the details for each item listed on your Aid Summary in the Financial Aid section of [My Buckeye Link](https://buckeyelink.osu.edu/) (including repayment plans, interest rates, loan terms, etc.)
- Accept or decline your aid through [My Buckeye Link](https://buckeyelink.osu.edu/).
- First time borrowers with Ohio State must sign all required [Master Promissory Notes](https://studentaid.gov/mpn/) and complete required
  [Entrance Counseling](https://studentaid.gov/entrance-counseling/). Note: If you have completed these items at Ohio State, you do not need to complete them every year.
- If necessary, submit the [Parent PLUS](https://studentaid.gov/plus-app/parent/landing)​ application​. If this is a parent's first time borrowing, he or she will need to sign a
  [Master Promissory Note (MPN](https://studentaid.gov/mpn/)).

## Important notes:

- Most types of aid are subject to our [Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy](https://sfa.osu.edu/contact-us/consumer-disclosure/satisfactory-academic-progress-policy).
- You cannot receive financial aid in an amount exceeding the [cost of attendance](https://sfa.osu.edu/distance-education/about-aid/financial-aid-eligibility). Accepting one type of aid may affect your eligibility to receive another type of aid.
- If you earn a degree, leave school or drop below half-time enrollment, the Department of Education requires you to complete
  [Exit Counseling](https://studentaid.gov/exit-counseling/). ​​​
