Overview
The resources below are dedicated to publishing undergraduate research. However, many undergraduates are able to publish research in national academic journals with their research advisor. Speak with your research advisor if you are interested in publishing your work in a national journal.

Tips on Publishing Your Research and Increasing Visibility

Open access citations, repositories and resources
Open access repositories are digital platform that holds research output and provide free, immediate and permanent access to research results for anyone to use, download and distribute.
How can I utilize Open Access Repositories?
- Upload a Pre-Print (the version of the article before it is peer-reviewed).
- If using a Post-Print, you can upload your own PDF version (many sites do not allow you to use their version of the article).

Other Tips
- Always check journal webpage rules about posting your article.
- Web of Science and SCOPUS let you filter out for Open Access cites.
- Use the website ThinkCheckSubmit for help on publishing.
Utilizing Online Research Profiles
- ORCID - Fully complete profile by getting an ORCID ID which can be connected to other publishers such as Web of Science and SCOPUS
- Google Scholar - Becoming a very common resource that can also show data and interactions with article
- ResearchGate - Can join with a Google or Facebook log-in
- Academia.edu - Can join with a Google or Facebook log-in
Other ways to Promote your Research Online
- Use Social Media - Do not be afraid to discuss and share your accomplishments!
- Consider starting a blog or website - U.OSU is a great Ohio State hosted blog site for discussing your research experience. Ohio State students can also create public ePortfolios to highlight their research experience via PebblePad. Other sites, such as Google Sites or WordPress can be great options as well.
- Send notifications of publications to your department chairs, college deans, and other university communications to spread the word of your accomplishment.
