Scholarships
NTU has many scholarships available for overseas students that can be applied for along with submitting your application. The government of Taiwan, other organizations, and your respective colleges also provide scholarships for international students. Being offered a scholarship does not guarantee admission to NTU, and vice versa.
The scholarships on this page are exclusively for degree students (undergraduate and graduate). For scholarships of non-degree programs (exchange and visiting), please contact your home university. For scholarships available to students already enrolled at NTU, please refer to Scholarships for Current Students.
Amounts shown in USD and EUR below are solely estimates (USD 1 ≒ TWD 30) / (EUR 1 ≒ TWD 32).

NTU Scholarships for International Students
Taiwan Scholarship awardees should not apply for NTU scholarships.
NTU International Undergraduate Student Scholarship
Requirements:
All international degree students can apply
Benefits:
Tuition subsidy of up to TWD 65,000 (USD 2,167) each semester + monthly stipend of TWD 8,000 (USD 267)
Note:
This is exclusive of administrative fees, thesis advisor’s fees, insurances, accommodation, internet service, credit fees, and other such fees, which the recipients shall bear on their own.
Maximum Duration:
The designated years of study for the program
Requirements for Renewal of Scholarship:
3.0 GPA or above in their first year, 3.2 GPA or above in their second year, and 3.33 GPA or above in their third year.
How to Apply:
Applicants only need to check the scholarship application box in the degree online application system. No extra documents or procedures are required.

NTU Scholarship for Central and Eastern European Countries (NTU-CEEC Scholarship)
Requirements:
Nationality: Students from Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia
Benefits:
Tuition subsidy of up to TWD 65,000 (EUR 2,013) each semester \ Monthly stipend of TWD 8,000 (EUR 256)
Note:
Each semester, tuition fees of up to TWD 65,000 (EUR 2,013) will be waived. This is exclusive of administrative fees, thesis advisor’s fees, insurances, accommodation, internet service, credit fees, and other such fees, which the recipients shall bear on their own.
Maximum Duration:
≤ 4 years
Requirements for Renewal of Scholarship:
3.0 GPA or above in their first year, 3.2 GPA or above in their second year, and 3.33 GPA or above in their third year.
How to Apply:
Eligible students are automatically considered for this scholarship. No further procedures are required.
NTU Scholarship for British Virgin Islands (NTU-BVI Scholarship)
Requirements:
Nationality: Students from the British Virgin Islands (BVI)
Benefits:
Tuition subsidy of up to TWD 65,000 (USD 2,167) each semester\ Monthly stipend of TWD 8,000 (USD 267)
Note:
Each semester, tuition fees of up to TWD 65,000 (USD 2,167) will be waived. This is exclusive of administrative fees, thesis advisor’s fees, insurances, accommodation, internet service, credit fees, and other such fees, which the recipients shall bear on their own.
Maximum Duration:
4 years for undergraduate degree students

NTU Scholarship for the Global Undergraduate Program in Semiconductors
Requirements:
All international degree students applying to the Global Undergraduate Program in Semiconductors
Benefits:
Tuition subsidy of up to TWD 65,000 (USD 2,167) each semester + monthly stipend of TWD 8,000 (USD 267)
Note:
This is exclusive of administrative fees, thesis advisor’s fees, insurances, accommodation, internet service, credit fees, and other such fees, which the recipients shall bear on their own.
Quota:
2 per academic year

4 years

NTU Scholarships for Overseas Chinese/Hong Kong & Macau Students
Scholarship for Students Admitted through Recommendation by Overseas High Schools
Requirements:
Overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, or Macao students admitted to NTU through Recommendation by Overseas High Schools
Benefits:
Full tuition subsidy + monthly stipend of TWD 8,000 (USD 267)
Note:
The tuition fee will be waived. This is exclusive of administrative fees, thesis advisor’s fees, insurances, accommodation, internet service, credit fees, and other such fees, which the recipients shall bear on their own.
Maximum Duration:
The designated years of study for the program
Requirements for Renewal of Scholarship:
3.38 GPA or above each year
How to Apply:
Applicants applying to NTU through Recommendation by Overseas High Schools are automatically considered for this scholarship. No further documents or procedures are required.

Government Scholarships
The following scholarships should be applied for directly with the relevant ministry or with the Taiwan overseas mission in your home country. NTU is not involved with the application of these scholarships and cannot provide assistance with your applications. Any questions you may have regarding these scholarships should be addressed to the relevant parties directly.
MOFA Taiwan Scholarship
Requirements:
In principle, this scholarship is granted to students from countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. However, special consideration may also be given to students from other countries.
Benefits:
– One-way economy-class plane tickets for direct flights to and from Taiwan\ – Reduced tuition fees\ – Monthly stipend of TWD 33,000 (USD 1,100)

4 years for undergraduate degree students

MOE Taiwan Scholarship
Requirements:
Nationalities from countries not in the scope of the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship
Benefits:
– Tuition waiver of up to TWD 40,000 each semester \ – Monthly stipend of TWD 15,000

4 years for undergraduate degree students

OCAC Elite and Outstanding Scholarship
Requirements:
Overseas Chinese students who have graduated from a senior high school or above, have excellent academic performance, good conduct, and meet the requirements of Article 2 of Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Compatriot Students in Taiwan for gaining a Bachelor’s degree in Taiwan.
- OCAC Elite Scholarship: Applicant’s overall academic average grade is equal to or above 88 points and they are in the top 5% of their class. They also have an average conduct grade above 80 points.
- OCAC Outstanding Scholarship: Applicant’s overall academic average grade is equal to or above 85 points and they are in the top 10% of their class. They also have an average conduct grade above 80 points.
- If the applicant’s grades are calculated differently in their country of overseas residence, the local ROC representative office and the Overseas Community Affairs Council will calculate and convert the grades accordingly.
Awards:
- OCAC Elite Scholarship: Reward of TWD 260,000 each academic year, renewal is subjected to review, totaling TWD 1,040,000 over four years.\ In certain circumstances, NTU will provide an additional award of TWD 130,000 each academic year, totaling TWD 520,000 over four years. The scholarship will then total to TWD 1,560,000. \
- OCAC Outstanding Scholarship: Reward of TWD 100,000 each academic year, renewal is subjected to review, totaling TWD 400,000 over four years.\ In certain circumstances, NTU will provide an additional award of TWD 50,000 each academic year, totaling TWD 200,000 over four years. The scholarship will then total to TWD 600,000.

Other Scholarships
The payment processes of the following scholarships will be handled by the institute in charge of the scholarship program.
Taiwan/Republic of China-PIFS Scholarship Scheme
Scholarships will be awarded for FULL or PART TIME studies at the certificate, diploma undergraduate or postgraduate levels within the specified priority fields. Awards are tenable at accredited tertiary institutions in FICs and Taiwan/Republic of China.
Requirements:
Nationality: Must be a citizen of a Forum Island Country\ Age: Under 35 years old
Benefits:
– Tuition fees\ – Living and accommodation allowances \ – Medical insurance\ – Textbooks\ – One return economy airfare\
