Jade Picking Project

In order to encourage full-time teaching and research personnel in various fields at NTU who receive less external research subsidies to continue improving their research momentum and contribute to NTU's research energy, Jade Picking Project especially offers research resources to eligible projects.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant must be a full-time teaching or research personnel at NTU.
  2. Professors, research fellows, associate professors and associate research fellows who have received subsidies from the Special Topic Research Project of NSTC every year for the past three years, and whose research plan submitted to NSTC this year was not approved, are eligible.
  3. Assistant professors and assistant research fellows who have received subsidies from the Special Topic Research Project of NSTC two years out of the past three years, and whose research plan submitted to NSTC this year was not approved, are eligible.
  4. Applicants who are executing the “Excellence in Key Advantages Program (NTU Core Consortiums and Competitiveness Programs)” OR the"Academic Research-Career Development Project (Sprout Research Projects)" OR the “Talent Training Program in the Advanced Academic Fields of International Competition” will not be granted with the Jade Picking Project. If applications are accepted at the same time, only one of them can be implemented.
  5. Applicants executing the projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology whose starting date ranges from January 1st to December 31st this year are not eligible.

Subsidy Period and Amount

Subsidy period lasts for one year, with a maximum amount of NT$500,000 per project. If there is a need for experiment consumables/instruments, the maximum amount is NT$1,000,000. The exact subsidy amount, however, still depends on the review results and the overall budget of the University.

Application Procedure

Application is now open and end on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2025.

Only electronic applications will be accepted. All applicants are requested to send the application to ORD by the electronic official document with file attached (or link) within the specified period. Application submitted after the due date will not be accepted. The signatures on the application form could be replaced by the signatures on the electronic official document system.

Funding relocation application

In accordance with the official letter No. 1100042067 dated June 24, 2021, in order to speed up the process, when relocation of project funding issued by ORD (accounting codes: L7, L8, L9, V) is in need, please submit the funding relocation application by electronic official documents. The examples of the electronic official document and the funding relocation application (no seal required at the bottom of the application form) are attached down below for reference.
