for NSTC Research Project

Legal Basis

Operation guidelines for NSTC Research Project Grants, applicable regulations issued by NSTC, and NSTC's announcements of calls for proposals.

Annual Call for Proposals for General Research Projects

Application Period: from November to December annually.

Application Procedures:

  1. The project principal investigator submits the application on the NSTC's website within the designated deadline set by the university.
  2. The responsible personnel of the department/institute will verify the project applications online on the NSTC's website and create a roster of all the applicants. Once the head of the department/institute reviews the roster and affixes their seal, it will be submitted to the respective college for further processing.

If a retired teaching and research fellow meets any of the following criteria, along with the requirement of their department/institute signing a declaration of support, is eligible to apply.

Note

The declaration of supportrefers to the requirement for the department/institute to sign a declaration stating their willingness to provide necessary space and equipment for the research. Additionally, they will take responsibility for all administrative procedures associated with the project. This declaration should be included as an attachment to the consolidated list of applicants as part of the application process.

  1. The responsible personnel of each college will compile the received rosters from their affiliated departments/institutes and submit the consolidated list to the dean. The dean will review the list and affix their seal.
  2. The consolidated list must be submitted to the Office of Research and Development (R&D) within the designated deadline set by the university for further processing and submission to NSTC.
  3. The Personnel Office will verify whether the applicant is a full-time staff member within the university's official staffing structure.
  4. The Office of R&D will conduct a thorough eligibility verification process for the project application. Once the verification is complete, all the applications will be compiled and submitted to NSTC along with an official document from the university.

Research Project for New-Hired Teaching and Research Fellow (Rolling Basis)

Application Period: Accepting applications on a rolling basis.

The teaching and research fellow who have never applied for NSTC research projects can apply on a rolling basis within 3 years from the date of employment, the date of obtaining a doctoral degree, or the date of meeting the eligibility criteria for project principal investigators as stated in Article 3 of the Operation Guidelines for NSTC Research Project Grants.

Application Procedures

  1. After submitting the application online through NSTC's website, please proceed to log in to the university's official document system at https://ndoc.ntu.edu.tw/ifdportal_ntu/ to create an official document specifically for the project application. You can find the template by navigating to the Official Document System > Document Creation > Standard Templates > 9-12 (9-12【函】新進教師申請國科會計畫).
