This spring, the Office of Research and Teaching Innovations received dozens of submissions from students reflecting on their experience in [the Core](https://college.uchicago.edu/academics/core-curriculum), the cornerstone of the College’s transformative curriculum.
The submissions varied—from learning with first-rate research resources on campus, to engaging the benefits of studying in a cosmopolitan city, to exploring histories and languages while studying abroad. Ultimately, these winning photos illustrate how the Core is a shared opportunity to think deeply, work collaboratively, and reach beyond disciplinary boundaries to understand the world around us.
