Applications are now open for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year applicants!

The deadlines for this year are as follows:

At the beginning of their second or third year in the College, students can apply for a special accelerated admission program into one of the eligible master’s programs. Participating students can lock in their spot with their preferred master’s program and receive an initial automatic $5,000 scholarship for their master's program and a $5,000 internship stipend to be used while they are in the College.

Fourth-years can apply to participating programs via 4+1, and can apply to any other UChicago graduate programs directly. Graduating students who apply through the 4+1 Scholars Program are eligible to receive an initial automatic $5,000 scholarship to their master's program, along with special career support.

“I decided to pursue a master's before medical school to become a well informed and holistic practitioner. My four years at The College were filled with curiosity, support, and passion, so it was a no-brainer accepting my offer. UChicago is home!” – Satvik (SJ) Jain, AB’24, MPH'25, MD Candidate at UChicago Pritzker School of Medicine

Eligible Programs & Admissions Criteria

Arts and Humanities Division

Admissions Criteria through 4+1 Scholars Program:

The Master of Arts Program in Humanities (MAPH) is typically a one-year program, however students can also apply to the MAPH Two-year Language Option (TLO).

The MAPH TLO was designed for students who require extensive language skills that exceed the Master of Arts Program in the Humanities' (MAPH) traditional one-year curriculum. This language component is ideal for students who are interested in translation studies, need advanced proficiency for admission to a PhD program, or would like to pursue language study to enhance their academic work.

TLO students:

Students should indicate which MAPH Program they’re interested in the one-year program or the two-year TLO program in their application.
