Whether you prefer to be within walking distance or plan to commute, the Greater College Park area and National Capital Region offer a wide range of living options for University of Maryland students. Review our resources to help assist you in finding the housing option that best meets your needs as a UMD graduate student. All units are fully furnished, with utilities – including electricity, water, and UMD internet – covered in the housing license fee. The [Off-Campus Housing Services Office](https://och.umd.edu/) (OCH) provides resources to students and the University Community to educate them on off-campus housing topics and assist them in finding off-campus housing. The office also provides [additional resources](https://och.umd.edu/resources/) on budget planning, local area profiles, apartment rating websites, and an array of other informational materials.

This searchable database lists available rental properties and potential roommates. It is free for students, staff, and faculty to search and list.

**Roommate Tips**\
Shared housing is a common way to reduce housing costs as a graduate student. The OCH Database hosts a [Roommate Search](https://ochdatabase.umd.edu/roommate/search "Roommate Search") function accessible only to University of Maryland Students. 

UMD also provides a multitude of [resources for students](https://mentalhealth.umd.edu/for-students) to meet their diverse mental health and wellness needs, from building community and connection, navigating finances and essential needs support, and academics.
