At The Graduate School Center for Writing and Oral Communication, we offer consultations about writing and oral communication across the graduate community. Our Writing Fellows support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars at every stage of their development as academic and professional communicators who can share their research and scholarship with broader audiences. Rasha Alkhateeb, Ph.D. Candidate in Literacy Education
Meet Writing Fellow Rasha Alkhateeb
"As a Ph.D. Candidate in Literacy Education, I often joke that I’m more interested in the writing part of literacy than the reading! Being a Writing Fellow has deepened my understanding of the Center for Writing & Oral Communication as a space for literacy teaching and learning, genre exploration, and identity-building through writing. It’s a place where students and Fellows can take ownership of their voice and style. I keep coming back because this work supports my growth as both a writer and educator. After graduation, I hope to direct a writing center and continue supporting writers in excavating and cultivating confidence and creativity. It’s my passion project!” - Rasha Alkhateeb, Ph.D. Candidate in Literacy Education
