Visitor Center at The Hotel at the University of Maryland

Whether you're visiting campus for one of our student-led tours, stopping by to speak with an admission representative or coming to experience UMD through our on-campus programs, The Visitor Center at The Hotel at the University of Maryland (UMD) is a great resource for prospective UMD students and their families.

When planning your visit to campus, remember that all guests of The Visitor Center receive a special rate for accommodations at The Hotel.

Front desk of the Visitor Center is located off of the main lobby, near The Hotel elevators .

The "Tunnel" is lined with video displays of life at UMD and leads into the auditorium where information sessions are held.

Location and Hours of Operation

Located in the main lobby of The Hotel, our staff will be available to assist you from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except when the university is closed for holidays and inclement weather.

Parking

All guests of the Visitor Center can receive discounted parking in The Hotel at UMD garage, which is attached to The Hotel.

Please include extra time in your schedule to allow for the parking and validation process. We encourage you to create a Metropolis parking account in advance of your visit.

How to Park

  1. Create a Metropolis Account
  2. Go to www.metropolis.io/join.
  3. Fill out the registration form with your vehicle license plate number and credit card information.
  4. This is a one-time setup that enables automatic recognition at any Metropolis location.
  5. Receive Your Discounted Rate
  6. Once your account is created and active, simply scan the QR code at the Visit Center desk.
  7. This will activate the discounted parking rate for your visit.
