**IMAGE:** Inclusive Mentor Academy for Graduate Education follows a nationally validated curriculum for mentor training, designed for graduate students in the early stages of mentoring high school, undergraduate, or early graduate students. The course is interdisciplinary, and graduate students from the Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts, and STEM fields are all encouraged to enroll.

The UF Graduate School’s Graduate Student Success team is pleased to announce that IMAGE will be offered again in Spring 2026—now as a **two-credit graduate-level course, IDS 6805.**

IMAGE will be offered in-person at the University of Florida’s main campus in Gainesville. Class meeting times will begin **January 22 and run through March 12, 2026** from **2 to 3:30 p.m.** Class sessions will be held in person at the main Gainesville campus.

To be considered for enrollment, you must first complete the application form available at the link below. If accepted, you will receive instructions on how to register for the course.

Schedule

IMAGE will run over eight consecutive weeks.

Week 1 - Introduction to mentor training

Week 2 - Aligning expectations

Week 3 - Promoting professional development

Week 4 - Maintaining effective communication

Week 5 - Addressing diversity of thought

Week 6 - Assessing understanding

Week 7 - Fostering independence

Week 8 - Cultivating ethical behavior

Eligibility

To participate in IMAGE, potential applicants must:

1. Be a current graduate student or postdoc at the University of Florida

2. Be available to complete all eight 90 minute sessions
