---

For an undergraduate, applying for financial aid at the university of Florida begins with the **FAFSA**, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

File your 2024-25 FAFSA as soon as possible after December 2023. File your 2025-26 FAFSA as soon as possible on or after December 1, 2024. You must complete the FAFSA every year.

## How?

SFA encourages students to apply for financial aid online using [**StudentAid.gov**](https://studentaid.gov/fafsa). Applying online saves time, and it also offers instant editing of your application, which helps to prevent errors.

In order to file a FAFSA online, you’ll also need to apply for an FSA ID using [**StudentAid.gov**](https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch). The FSA ID allows you to access your online FAFSA, sign your FAFSA electronically, and make corrections to your FAFSA.

## When?

Although you must be accepted for enrollment at UF before you are considered for financial aid, you should *apply* for aid before being admitted. Complete the FAFSA at [**StudentAid.gov**](https://studentaid.gov/fafsa).

File your 2024-25 FAFSA as soon as possible after December 2023. File your 2025-26 FAFSA as soon as possible on or after December 1, 2024.

In order for us to consider you for a financial aid package, you must be a degree seeking admitted student.

Current students will receive their 2025-26 financial aid offers in June 2025.

## Do I Qualify?

Students who complete a FAFSA and list UF as a “college of choice” are automatically considered for **all** aid programs administered by SFA. One or more of the various types of aid (scholarships, grants, loans, and employment) are usually offered, alone or in combination, to eligible students.
