The Master

The Master in Legal Issues, Crime and Security of Information Technologies offered by HEC Lausanne and the Faculty of Law, Criminal Sciences and Public Administration (FDCA), provides cutting-edge, cross-disciplinary training in the legal, IT and forensic issues surrounding information technology. Aimed at students with a background in law, forensics, economics or business computing, it deepens their knowledge while adding an interdisciplinary dimension. This Master's programme leads to a degree in law (MLaw). This demanding and rewarding programme develops a wide range of skills that enable students to tackle complex issues, both in their original field and in the other disciplines covered. The programme is administered by the Faculty of Law, Criminal Sciences and Public Administration (FDCA).

Career prospects

At a time when digitisation is sweeping across all professional sectors, the skills acquired in the DCS Master's programme are an asset on the job market and meet a clearly identified need in the private and public sectors. Our graduates are regularly offered jobs in a wide range of sectors, including forensic science, data protection, auditing firms, IT security companies, the administration, the judiciary, law firms, scientific research and even communications and diplomacy. The quality of this Master's programme owes a great deal to its teaching staff, who may also be active in other programmes at UNIL, or to the renowned practitioners who act as lecturers, enabling students to make even closer links between theory and practice. It is also due to the origin of the students, who with their different backgrounds are more inclined to exchange ideas and have a lot to contribute to each other.
