### BIDS scholarships for the first year of studies

**€300 per month** for 12 months, i.e. from October 2025 until September 2026

### Application process for the scholarship

To find out about the application process and deadline, please refer to the [Deutschlandstipendium website](https://tu-dresden.de/studium/rund-ums-studium/foerderung-und-finanzierung/deutschlandstipendium/bewerben).

Applications to study at TU Dresden must be submitted additionally to the scholarship applications.

### Prerequisites to apply for a scholarship

- School-leaving qualification: IB / GIB / German *Abitur* (direct university entrance qualification in Germany)
- Application for an undergraduate degree program (Bachelor’s or *Diplom*) at TU Dresden, preferred in a [STEM disciplines](https://tu-dresden.de/studium/rund-ums-studium/foerderung-und-finanzierung/begabtenfoerderung-und-finanzierung/mint-ec/mint-studiengaenge-tu-dresden) with open admission

### Prerequisite for the awarding of the scholarship

To receive the scholarship, applicants must have been admitted to TU Dresden for an undergraduate degree program (Bachelor’s or *Diplom*). However, the applicant need not yet be admitted to TU Dresden at the time of application. For advice and assistance with the application, please contact Luise Thalheim (see below for contact details).

### Applying to study at TU Dresden

#### Application with IB/GIB

You must submit your application to study at TU Dresden with uni-assist, the working service point for international student applications. uni-assist works on TU Dresden’s behalf to make sure the submitted application documents are complete and the formal prerequisites for admission to the desired degree program have been met. If these requirements are met, the application is forwarded to TU Dresden for final review and admission. The use of uni-assist’s application services are subject to a fee.

We recommend submitting more than one application via uni-assist, i.e. applications for multiple degree programs at TU Dresden (which actually interest you). If you are not admitted to your preferred degree program, this will open up the opportunity to be admitted to a second or third-choice degree program.

More important [information on applying with uni-assist](https://tu-dresden.de/studium/vor-dem-studium/bewerbung/online-bewerbung/bewerbungsverfahren-ueber-uni-assist).

**Period to apply to study at TU Dresden:**

April 1, 2025 to July 15, 2025

**Documents to apply to study at TU Dresden:**

You can find information on the required application documents in the [Application Procedures for International Applicants](https://tu-dresden.de/studium/vor-dem-studium/ressourcen/dateien/internationales/informationen-fuer-internationale-bewerber?lang=en) published by TU Dresden’s International Office.

#### Application with a German International Abitur

The application for the so-called Bildungsinländer is made via the [application portal of the TU Dresden (SELMA)](https://selma.tu-dresden.de/application). All application details are digitally recorded there and the documents are then submitted.

For open-admission degree programs, no letter of admission is usually issued; instead, students can enrol at TU Dresden directly after submitting their digital application. For this purpose, the enrolment documents are submitted by post.

For subjects with restricted admission (NC or DOSV), the application documents must be submitted by post to the TU Dresden by 15 July after the digital application has been completed. After all application documents have been received and reviewed, the selection procedure will take place. An admission decision will then be made available digitally, presumably starting from mid-August.

**Application deadline for a study place:**

Admission-restricted degree programs: 01.06.2025 - 15.07.2025

Admission-free degree programs: 01.06.2025 - 15.09.2025

**Application documents for applying for a degree program:**

Information on the required application documents can be found on the [application instructions for German citizens and foreign students\*](https://tu-dresden.de/studium/vor-dem-studium/ressourcen/dateien/immatrikulationsamt/hinweise/bewerber-online.pdf) (available in German only).
