Advertisement for Project Associate

We invite applications for the position of Project Associate, in a project investigated by  Prof. Sathish Vadhiyar, Department of Computational and Data Sciences, Indian Institute of Science.

The project is related to development of a comprehensive and integrated parallel computing framework for ML/DL applications. The project has the following components related to research and development.

1. Novel parallel models and Communication-Minimizing Strategies for ML/DL applications.
2. High Performance I/O for ML/DL workloads
3. Fault-tolerant frameworks for ML/DL problems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

For research and development on parallel ML/DL frameworks, and to integrate the overall components into a comprehensive framework and perform advanced scientific studies.

Required Qualifications and Remuneration

Qualification Required: BE/BTech or Masters in Computer Science/AI/Data Science or related field.

Remuneration:

• For BE/BTech candidates: Consolidated salary of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000 per month based on qualifications and experience.
• For Masters candidates: Consolidated salary of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 75,000 per month based on qualifications and experience.

Other essential qualifications include the following.

• Strong familiarity with C and Unix is required. In all cases, strong background in Linux, operating system concepts and programming are required.
• Experience in working with AI/ML tools is required.
• Experience in OpenMP/MPI/CUDA-based parallel applications is desired.
• The candidate is expected to have good communication skills and should be willing to work in a team environment.

Terms of Appointment: This is a contract appointment, initially for one year and renewable thereafter based on an annual evaluation of performance. The maximum duration of employment is 2 years.
