Message from the Director and the Co-Director of CRECS
John Sylvestre, CRECS Director; and Isabelle Bourgeois, CRECS Co-Director
Welcome to the CRECS! The Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services is co-sponsored by the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in research, evaluation and training. CRECS brings together professors, community researchers, students and post-doctoral fellows as its membership with a shared interest in working with community partners in the education, social service and health sectors. \ We invite you to explore this website and to learn more about CRECS’ knowledge sharing and professional development activities which are featured in Upcoming Events. During the 2025-26 academic year, the Centre is pleased to collaborate with the University of Ottawa Library and other colleagues to offer a series of events aimed at enhancing student research skills. CRECS will also offer a monthly virtual seminar on program evaluation called the CRECS-CEC Evaluation Collaborative for those with a particular interest in evaluation. These events are free of cost and open to the public. You are invited to view videos from these events on our YouTube channel – feel free to use them as open educational resources. \ You can find information here on the CRECS bursary programme for graduate students and on two affiliated micro-programs in program evaluation delivered by the Faculty of Education and the School of Psychology. \ Working with the CRECS Administrative Team, we are committed to exploring how CRECS can best support our members to advance our mission of “inclusive knowledge, better society” into the future.\ Thank you for your interest, and if you have questions about CRECS, please get in touch at [email protected].
