## Educational Technologies and Training for Teachers

## Educational Technology Training Program for Teachers Level 1

The training program is designed for the faculty and administrative personnel of PKU to learn Office skills. It is intended for them to create a series of tools related to their own teaching using different software, so as to enhance their IT skills. Teachers with full attendance may obtain the Level 1 Educational Technology Certificate. According to PKU’s regulations, those who have obtained the Certificate are exempted from the computer test for professional title assessment (click here to see the detailed regulations issued by the Personnel Department: <http://hr.pku.edu.cn/zczd/xxjbmzd/zcps/13806.htm>).

The Educational Technology Training Program for Teachers Level 1 includes test and training, and teachers may also obtain the Certificate by passing the test. The sessions of the training program are held during the fall semester each year.

****Training Content****

The program has 8 modules, which are aimed at improving the participants’ skills in using computer operating systems, internet, word processing software, multimedia software and spreadsheet software in their work. The teaching sessions of the training program include lecturing, independent activities, classroom presentations, discussions and self-reflection.

****Educational Technology Test for Teachers****

The Educational Technology Test for Teachers is the supporting test in the Educational Technology Training Program for Teachers Level 1. It is designed to be taken by PKU’s teachers who have mastered Office software, and those who pass the test will be awarded the Level 1 Educational Technology Certificate issued by relevant departments of the Ministry of Education.

The test is held during every fall semester, usually a week before the training opens.
