# Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, and The University of Tokyo Hold Joint Workshop on Smart City and TOD Development

Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, and The University of Tokyo Hold Joint Workshop on Smart City and TOD Development\

On November 7–8, 2025, the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the University of Tokyo (UTokyo), organized a Joint Workshop Project on Smart City Development and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD). The workshop took place at the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, and in Ayutthaya Province.\

The workshop aimed to promote academic exchange on Smart City concepts and urban management strategies, approaches that play a vital role in enhancing the quality of urban life and supporting sustainable urban development in Thailand.\
\
The collaborative study focused on two key areas:\
- Samyan–Suan Luang–Bantadthong Area, which serves as a model site for Chulalongkorn University’s Samyan Smart City initiative, and\
- The Red Line Railway Corridor, extending from Bang Sue Station to Ayutthaya Province, which presents significant potential for spatial development under the TOD concept.\

The project was led by Asst. Prof. Nattapong Punnoi, Ph.D., with participation from faculty members, researchers, and students from both universities. The participants included 20 graduate students from The University of Tokyo and 7 graduate students from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University.\
