Program Overview


*Short Introduction*

The Master of Science in Health Development is a collaboration of 3 leading institutes; Chulalongkorn University, Khon Kaen University and Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. This program focuses on applying the best available research evidence to patient care, to help solve current health problems and to ensure the successful implementation of future health care. Providing a broad knowledge base, the program aims to build the critical abilities among students, to become leaders in health institutions. Students will learn the principles of research methodology, biostatistics, health social science, and clinical economics. Students will join with our collaborative environment with each institutional facilities. They will be well-supported in their self-directed learning and through problem-based approaches.

The program is a two-year master degree course comprising 36 credits. Students are required to take courses full-time during the first year, and will be allowed to collect data for their theses in their hometown in the second year. They will have the opportunity to work closely with advisors, who are assigned based on students’ own research interests, and their work will be assessed not only by faculty staff but also by visiting examiners. Students will also be supported through manuscript writing and encouraged to publish their own work, as part of our intention to develop confident researchers in the field.
