Research Visits

Students interested in visiting IIT Kanpur for short-term research visits will first need to identify and contact a faculty under whom they would like to conduct research. Once the faculty has given the approval for the student's research visit, the Office of International Relations will issue an invitation letter that can be used for visa purposes.

Semester Exchange

Students interested in visiting IIT Kanpur for a semester exchange will first need to identify if their Home University and IIT Kanpur have a semester exchange partnership. Degree Programs

Undergraduate admissions at IIT Kanpur are through the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) conducted annually. (Fall semester). Students applying through government-aided programs shall apply at the website of these programs. To view the scholarship programs, Click here. \ \ Note: Students can apply directly to IIT Kanpur and through a government-aided program simultaneously. In case the student is selected but does not receive a government-funded scholarship, they can take direct admission to IITK and can avail the Institute fellowship.
