## Guidelines for Candidates in the Foreign National category for admission in MTech/MDes/MS (Research) and PhD Programmes

- Candidates in the Foreign National (FN) category are required to apply online through the link given on ["apply online"](https://www.iitk.ac.in/doaa/pgadmission/apply-online2026-27-I.php) page.
- **It is mandatory for all foreign students intending to pursue higher education in India to complete their registration on the Study in India (SII) portal. This registration is also linked to issuance of their study visa.**\

- Application fee is waived for the FN category candidates. FN candidates are requested to ignore the payment of application fees on the Pingala Portal after submission of their application.
- Requirement of GATE qualification is waived for candidates in the Foreign National (FN) category.
- Final selection of the shortlisted FN candidates is based on interviews through video conferencing.
- Candidates from ASEAN countries may apply for fellowship through the portal [http://asean.iitd.ac.in](http://asean.iitd.ac.in/).
