India Bhutan Friendship Scholarship

This fully-funded scholarship offered by the Government of India is specifically for Bhutanese students to pursue M.Tech. at IIT Kanpur.

Who can apply?

All Bhutanese nationals with a Bachelors degree can apply for the scholarship.

What does the scholarship offer?

Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarships

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India’s first Education Minister. ICCR’s objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programs pertaining to India’s external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries; to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people; and to develop relations with nations.\ Every year, ICCR offers scholarships to students from across the world to study in Indian universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.\ Applications to ICCR Scholarship Schemes is usually in April-June

African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO) Scholarship

AARDO is an inter-governmental organization comprising member countries from Asia and Africa, with India being one of the founding members.\ AARDO and IIT Kanpur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in capacity building, knowledge and dissemination and transfer of appropriate and affordable innovative solutions for agricultural and rural development in Member Countries.\ The scholarships under this agreement are offered for the M.Tech. program and applicants are selected as per the rules instituted by IITK.\ This scholarship offers:

Study in India

The Study In India (SII) programme is a project introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The programme facilitates and encourages international students to study in premier institutes in India.\ Students who apply through Study in India will be eligible to sit for the PRAGATII Exam. Doctoral fellowship in India for ASEAN (DIA)

In 2018, on the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit in New Delhi, the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, in the presence of the leaders of all 10 ASEAN countries, announced the Doctoral fellowship in India for ASEAN.
