On 30th October 2025, Prof. Alba Torrents from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park, USA, visited the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. As part of her visit, Prof. Torrents delivered a thought-provoking lecture titled “Innovations in Low-Impact Technologies for Remediation and Pollution Mitigation,” offering valuable insights into sustainable engineering solutions for environmental challenges.

During her visit, Prof. Torrents also met with Prof. Bushra Ateeq, Dean, Office of International Relations, IIT Kanpur. The discussion focused on identifying potential avenues for academic and research collaboration between IIT Kanpur and the University of Maryland, with a shared commitment to advancing global partnerships in environmental science and engineering.
