**Prof. Arun K. Somani**, Anson Marston Distinguished Professor, Phillip and Virginia Sproul Professor, and Senior Associate Dean at IOWA State University, USA, visited IIT Kanpur on **11 August 2025**. The purpose of the visit was to discuss joint research program between IIT Kanpur and IOWA State University. During the visit, **Prof. Somani** met with **Prof. Bushra Ateeq**, Dean of International Relations, along with faculty members, **Prof. Pranamesh Chakraborty,** Department of Civil Engineering; **Prof. Satyadev Nandakumar**, Department of Computer Science and Engineering and **Prof. Abhishek Sarkar**, Department of Mechanical Engineering to explore avenues of academic and research collaboration.

**Prof. Somani** visited important research facilities of the Institute, including the **FlexE Centre** and **C3iHub**, to understand ongoing work in the areas of flexible electronics, cybersecurity, and allied fields. The discussions focused on identifying potential areas where both institutions could work together for mutual benefit.

**Prof. Somani** also addressed IITK students and delivered a lecture on ***“An innovative pathway to get opportunities in the USA”***. He also shared valuable guidance on skill development, career planning, and exploring global opportunities. This visit further strengthened the academic relationship between IIT Kanpur and IOWA State University for future collaborations.
