Minor Programs

The department offers four minor programs - Algorithms, Computer Systems, Theoretical Computer Science, and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence. The course requirements for these programs are as follows:\

  1. Algorithms: Students are required to do ESO207, CS345 and one other course from the pre-approved list of courses for algorithms (link is present below).
  2. Computer Systems: Students are required to do ESO207 and two courses from the pre-approved list of courses for systems (link is present below).
  3. Theoretical Computer Science: Students are required to do ESO207, CS340 and one other course from the pre-approved list of courses for theoretical computer science (link is present below).
  4. AI/ML: Students are required to do ESO207, CS771 and one other course from the pre-approved list of courses for ML/AI (link is present below).

For each minor stream, the minimum total credit requirement is 30.\

Eligibility

BTech students of departments other than CSE who have completed two years in their program can apply for Minor Programs in CSE. Each year at most ten students will be registered for CSE minor programs.

How to Apply

Interested students must give an application on a piece of paper with the following information on it:


Title: Application for a CSE Minor program.  Name:  Roll No.:  Department:  Email Id:  CPI:  ESc101 Grade:  Grades of any other CS course:

Submit your application in the CSE office latest by 4 pm on the day before the day of registration(in this year 2013 it is 25th July).

The deadline for the acceptance has been extended to 4 pm 29th July.

Selection Criterion

At most ten (10) students will be selected from those who apply with complete and correct information. The selection will be based primarily on CPI but it will also depend on the ESC101 grade.
