Taekwondo at Loughborough offers high-quality training for all abilities from complete beginners to experienced black belts with dedicated classes and freestyle sessions to help every member progress.

Founded in 1995 by senior members of the GTUK, Loughborough Students’ Taekwondo Club has built a proud tradition of excellence and inclusivity. The club primarily follows the ITF style, but welcomes members from all martial arts backgrounds who want to develop their skills in a supportive and disciplined environment.

Training is held up to six times a week, with separate sessions for beginners and senior members to ensure tailored coaching for every level. Members are encouraged to compete throughout the year, with the club regularly achieving strong results at both local and national competitions.

Beyond the mats, Taekwondo at Loughborough is a close-knit community, with regular social events helping members build friendships, confidence, and mutual respect. Whether your goal is to earn your black belt, compete, or simply learn a new discipline, the club offers the coaching, facilities, and atmosphere to help you succeed.

Ways you can get involved

Athletic Union (AU)

Loughborough Students’ Taekwondo Club trains up to six times per week, offering sessions for all levels from beginners to experienced black belts, including freestyle training.

Established in 1995 by senior members of the GTUK, the club primarily practises the ITF style but welcomes members from all martial arts backgrounds. With a history of competitive success and a strong, friendly community, Taekwondo at Loughborough offers both performance and social opportunities for its members.

The club competes in the BUCS Winter and Spring Championships.
