American football at Loughborough University offers number of competitive opportunities. Whether you’re a footballer with an academy background or a grass roots player there is provision for everyone.

Established in 1987, our club has a proud legacy as one of the most successful teams in British American Football history. We’re the first student team to reach 100 wins - a milestone that reflects decades of dedication, talent, and teamwork.

The team is led by experienced coaching talent, including a Great Britain Defensive Lineman and a former Great Britain Defensive Backs Coach. We also have opportunities for any interested players to develop into coaching roles. Our coaching staff draws on a diverse range of skills to develop a strong, unified squad. Many of our players go on to represent their country at student or full international level.

### Athletic Union (AU)

Competing in the elite BUCS Premier North division, Loughborough boasts a purpose-built field beside the iconic Holywell Park Stadium and holds the historic title of being the first British team to reach 100 wins.

Based at our purpose-built 3G American Football field next to the stadium at Holywell Park, we offer top-tier facilities and a competitive, inclusive environment for players of all levels.

## Get in touch

Joining an AU team is done at the start of the year during Freshers, where you can attend a trials and tasters session.
