I’m Aaryan, an undergraduate student from India. Newcastle University appealed to me because of the opportunities I would get, the diversity I would experience and the facilities I could use on campus. \ \ Being part of the Russell Group and based in a vibrant city, I could see the rich culture Newcastle University would provide. I also found out the University had a good cricket team so I could continue the sport which I have been working hard at for the last 13 years.

Student life at Newcastle
My course is interesting, innovative, and challenging. If you were to ask me what I enjoy most, I’d say how interactive the teaching is and how helpful my professors are. \ \ The course structure and the Urban Science Building also make Newcastle University stand out in this area. If you like computer science, this course will just make you fall in love with it even more. \ \ What really surprised me is how easy it has been for me to fit in. I would say the social life is the best bit about being a student! As I mentioned, I’m part of the cricket club as I used to play professionally back home. I’m also part of the Ultimate Frisbee Club and the International Society.
Find out about our student societies
My favourite memories are of playing in tournaments with the Newcastle University Ultimate Frisbee Club. I get to travel with the team and play for two days – it’s the perfect bonding experience.
Thinking about my future
My degree has helped me gain vital industry knowledge and realise which field I would enjoy working in the most. I haven’t completely figured out what I want to do next, but I am interested in business analyst roles.
Find out about our Careers Service
The Careers Service has helped me make my CV more appealing and explained how I can develop skills which will boost my employability.
