We provide comprehensive advice and support for international students to help them get off to a good start and make the most of their time at FAU and for FAU students who are planning to spend time abroad. Whether you have questions about prerequisites for studying, accreditation of achievements, scholarships or planning a semester abroad – we can provide individual advice and detailed information all about international study.

Advice for exchange programs – incoming and outgoing
Our office hours
We provide advice for FAU students on spending time studying or doing an internship abroad (“outgoing students”) and support international students who are studying at FAU as part of a stay abroad (“incoming students”). We also provide international degree-seeking students with expert advice on all non-academic topics (for instance on financing studies, health insurance or matters concerning residency).

Our office hours vary depending on target group:
Advice on studying abroad (outgoing)
In person: Thursday from 9 am to 11 am
Visiting address: Room 2.4942 (2nd floor), Freyeslebenstraße 1, 91058 Erlangen
Online: Monday and Thursday, from 9 am – 11 am via Zoom.
Advice for “outgoing” students is for students at FAU who are planning to study or complete an internship abroad. We cover topics such as the application process, funding opportunities and necessary preparations and help students prepare for spending time abroad.
Advice for students interested in coming to FAU on an exchange (“incoming students”)
In person: Thursday from 9 am to 11 am
Visiting address: Room 2.4942 (2nd floor), Freyeslebenstraße 1, 91058 Erlangen
Online: Monday and Thursday, from 9 am – 11 am via Zoom
Support for international students on all organizational matters before and during their stay of one to two semesters as part of an exchange program or coming to FAU as a free mover. The aim is to help them get off to a flying start and make it easier for them to find their feet at university.
Advice for regular international students (non-academic matters)
In person: Thursday from 9 am to 12 noon
Visiting address: Room 2.4842 (2nd floor), Freyeslebenstraße 1, 91058 Erlangen
Online: Monday and Wednesday, from 9 am – 12 noon via Zoom\
Advice on non-academic topics (for example, financing your studies, health insurance and residency) for international students at FAU aiming for a German university degree who have successfully applied for and are now enrolled on one of our more than 150 degree programs.
