As a university that offers the entire spectrum of academic disciplines and opportunities across diverse research areas, departments and institutes, all employees of FAU benefit from personal and professional development. Its young researchers prosper through intensive training at the highest international standards, opening all pathways to a successful research career. This approach entails taking on responsibility early on, independent research and teaching and further training within and outside the University. Our professors are ambassadors and role models who set standards for the university community.
FAU has a modern approach to university leadership that is sensitive to issues of diversity. The organizational, management and decision-making structures in research, teaching and administration are constantly adapted to focus on successful knowledge management. Effective and efficient administration is promoted to support the University’s outstanding research.

At FAU, the Vice President People is responsible for the strategical implementation of personnel development, collaboration, and diversity initiatives. Programs aimed at supporting managers, encouraging equal opportunities and striking a balance between work and family commitments are offered to ensure that the University is diverse, takes a connected approach and offers strong structures for everyone.
